Prescription Medications

Generally, tummy tuck patients are prescribed antibiotics for 7-10 days and pain medication as needed. Commonly prescribed medications will include:

How Long Do Tummy Tuck Procedures Take?

After removing excess skin and fat, the belly button is repositioned to align with the new contour of the abdomen. The surgeon will then dress and close the incision with layers of suture, skin adhesive, and surgical tape. They will put you in an elastic binder for comfort.

Anticipate a more slender and contoured stomach after a few weeks as the swelling disappears. Full tummy tuck results are seen between 4-6 months after the procedure.

Tummy Tuck VS Mini-Tummy Tuck. Which is the Best for Me?

The main difference between a traditional tummy tuck and a mini tummy tuck comes with the length of the incision. A mini tummy tuck is made in the same location as a traditional tummy tuck but is usually about 6-12 inches shorter in length.

  • Traditional Tummy Tuck

    This procedure is best suited for patients who have an excess amount of loose skin or fat in the stomach area that cannot be eliminated through a healthy diet and exercise. These candidates may also have muscle separation or laxity due to pregnancy or hereditary issues.

  • Mini Tummy Tuck
