What happens if I had a C-section? What if I have a lot of skin excess from multiple children?

Some women have babies – and you would never be able to tell. Other women who have babies – have a significant amount of skin and muscle damage. There is a wide range of outcomes after pregnancy and our treatment plan will be customized to the individual patient. Some women don’t have any stretch marks, and some have an entire abdomen covered by stretch marks or striae distensae. Every mom and every pregnancy can be different. A mommy makeover after a C-section can be a great option because you already have a scar. When we perform an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck at Omni Cosmetic, we remove the C-section scar and then plan the new scar to be a bit lower. We adjust the medication plan for each patient’s needs. Every patient will get a long-acting numbing medication placed into the surgical site. Every procedure creates inflammation and a prescription-strength anti-inflammatory has been a big part of our treatment menu. Therefore, every patient will go home on a long-acting anti-inflammatory. This tends to decrease narcotic use; however, we will recommend a narcotic medication such as oxycodone or Percocet. Some patients need very little and some require a refill. We will customize the plan to meet the needs of the individual.
