Breast Lift Surgery
Our surgeons will discuss the various techniques used for breast lift surgery and the location of the incisions used for each procedure. The incisions may be just around the areola (the colored skin around the nipple), around the areola and down the bottom of the breast, or they may include an incision in the fold under the breast. The scars are very well accepted and well-hidden after the initial healing phase. We will help you choose the optimal option to reach your goals.
We will also often perform breast augmentation with breast implants at the same time as a lift. For most patients, we recommend placing the breast implant behind the pectoralis muscle for a more natural appearance.
Breast lift surgery is a same-day procedure performed in our fully accredited outpatient surgery center, located within the Minneapolis – St. Paul metro, on the first floor of our building.
Recovery After Breast Lift Surgery
Following your breast lift surgery, you will be cared for by the nursing staff in the recovery room. When you are fully awake and comfortable, you will be released to the care of a family member or friend with a list of after-care instructions.
Many breast lift patients return to work after 5-7 days of recovery time at home. There will be guidelines for after-care including lifting restrictions and limited exercise. We will schedule post-breast lift surgery follow-up appointments in one of our Wayzata or St. Cloud clinics periodically.
